De acordo com informações da polícia, o homem foi identificado como Lucas Diniz da Silva, de 27 anos, e o crime teria ocorrido por volta das 22h40. Segundo a polícia, o homem teria ido até a casa da ex-esposa e pediu para que os filhos dormissem com ele. Horas depois, o homem começou a mandar mensagens ameaçando a mulher, chegando a mandar fotos da arma.
A polícia foi acionada pela avó materna das crianças, e quando os policiais chegaram a residência ouviram barulhos de tiro. Ao entrarem na casa, os policiais encontram as duas crianças e o pai deitados na cama com ferimentos de bala na cabeça. A menina de 4 anos morreu enquanto era levada para o hospital. A Polícia Civil investiga o caso.
